Medical cannabis in schools: The experiences of caregivers and clinicians

Are you a caregiver of a child taking medical cannabis, or a clinician who authorizes medical cannabis for children?

The University of Saskatchewan and the Canadian Childhood Cannabinoid Clinical Trials are conducting a study to learn more about the experiences of parents and caregivers of children who take medical cannabis and clinicians who authorize medical cannabis for children, regarding medical cannabis in schools. Participation will involve a one on one interview with a researcher.

Establishing Research Priorities: An Exploration of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Women and Gender-Diverse People’s Needs in Cannabis and Mental Health

The Native Women’s Association of Canada is looking for participants for a study on Aug 16th & 19th about the impacts of cannabis on Inuit women living with mental health issues.

Participants must be:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Women or gender-diverse
  • Inuit
  • Available for a 3-hour session

BC Cancer Clinical Trial: Cannabis for Cancer-Related Symptoms

This new study will research if cannabis oils are effective in treating symptoms (pain, nausea, sleep disturbance and anxiety) related to your cancer or cancer treatment.

To qualify for participation:

  1. You are at least 19 years old
  2. Your symptom(s) are expected to be stable throughout the duration of the study
  3. You are willing to commit to not taking cannabis in any form other than the study products for the duration of the study
  4. You are accessible by telephone
  5. Your symptoms are related to your cancer or cancer-treatment
  6. You are willing to not drink any alcohol for the duration of the study
  7. You are willing to commit to not operating a vehicle or heavy machinery for the duration of the study

Cannabis Use for HIV Symptom Management Survey

The broad objective of this study is to understand the experience of people living with HIV who use cannabis to help reduce and manage their symptoms.

The study is funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Principal Investigator is Dr. Marilou Gagnon of the University of Victoria. Members of the research team include Dr. Adrian Guta, Dr. Zach Walsh, Dr. Carol Strike, Dr. Jason Nickerson, Nancy Chow, Richard Elliott, and Trevor Stratton.

To participate in this study, participants must:

  1. Identify as an adult living with HIV in Canada
  2. Use cannabis to reduce and manage symptoms (for example, appetite loss, weight loss (wasting), nausea, vomiting, pain, anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, etc.)
  3. Be able to complete the online survey in English or French
